Base Rental Fee:
For less than three (3) consecutive days: $700/day
For three (3) or more consecutive days: $650/day
The base rental fee includes: The theatre, lobby areas, facility manager, free weekend parking, Marley dance floor, available sound equipment, available dressing rooms and green room. Facility rental is up to a 10-hour day. Hourly rates apply after 10-hours and are charged at $100.00.

Front-of-house crew sizes and call times are determined by the Operations Manager and are charged at $10.00/person/hour up to 10-hours.
 
Edison Technical Crew $15.00/person/hour
Outside Contract Labor $25.00/person/hour
Backstage crew sizes and call times are determined by the Technical Director. Minimum crew of three (3) technicians is required. Edison Techical Crew shall be utilized when available. Outside Contract Labor shall be utitlized when Edison Technical Crew is unavailable. Hourly rates are based upon a 10-hour day, any days extending beyond 10 hours will be charged at base rate plus an additional $10 per hour.
 
Equipment Fees:
Lighting Depreciation $0.50 per stage lighting instrument
per hour of use
Steinway 9’ Grand Piano
(includes tuning)
$180.00 for first day
$60.00 for each additional day
Hazer Usage $5 per day
Misc. Production Supplies approximately $100 per show
Requirements beyond the Edison inventory are the responsibilitiy of lessee and must be approved by Facility Manager.
 
Edison Theatre Box Office Fees:
Edison Theatre encourages all lessees selling tickets to their event to utilize the Edison Theatre Box Office and/or MetroTix ticketing system.
Event Set-up Fee $75.00
Per Ticket Charge $0.30/ticket
Two (2) Box Office Staff for the event $12.00/person/hour
A 6% handling charge applies to all MetroTix outlet and phone room sales.
A 6% processing charge applies to all credit card sales (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) and WU Campus Card sales.
 
Additional Fees:
Cleaning Fee $50.00
Additional costs may apply based on the condition of the theatre, dressing rooms, green room, and backstage area.

  • Washington University requires all outside lessees provide a Certificate of Insurance for $1,000,000 term general liability insurance for the duration of their stay in Edison.
  • A projected list of expenses, as estimated by the Edison Theatre Technical Director, shall be signed by the lessee as part of the rental contract.
  • Annually, Edison reserves the right to change charges as it deems appropriate.
  • Backstage areas are shared when there is a simultaneous production in the A.E. Hotchner Studio Theatre or Dance Studio.
  • Edison Theatre has the sole right to determine whom shall/shall not use the Theatre.
  • The Mallinckrodt Center and Edison Theatre are smoke-free and alcohol-free areas. Smoking and the use of, or possession of alcoholic beverages is strictly forbidden. Failure to abide by Washington University or Edison policies will jeopardize future rentals of the facility.
